We've got to get our acts together. We need to know our history. 
If we don't know it, yes, we're doomed to repeat parts of it. But beyond that, if we don't know it, charlatans will distort and misuse our history. What kind of nation doesn't know it's own history. Go to any other country and you'll find that history and identity is very important to its citizens. We can't afford to be American idiots.
