The third of Metallica's four-night 30th anniversary gigs follows the formula of the first two, featuring an array of songs from throughout the band's career, a previously unheard cut and a slew of guests.
A good chunk of the early portion of the set focuses on the band's first 10 years, with cuts from the bands classic period.
One cool part of these shows is when members of the fan club join them on stage. For the third show, MetClub member Joseph Guariglia joins Metallica on a roaring rendition of Blitzkrieg's "Blitzkrieg." (Watch it.)
Alice in Chain's Jerry Cantrell plays on three tracks, including an electric, all-star rendition of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Tuesday's Gone" superior to the acoustic Garage Inc. attempt.
Other guests include Glenn Danzig, Judas Priest's Rob Halford and Anti-Nowhere League singer Animal for "So What," one of the most inappropriate songs ever recorded.
The shows are inessential for those who don't enjoy Metallica, but for those who do, they are an absolute feast.
Tomorrow's entry: Craig Finn, Clear Heart, Full Eyes
